Risk Factors and Investment Considerations Authenticity Risks:
Forgery and counterfeiting are risks associated with the purchase of rare coins. To minimize the risks, it is recommended that investors only buy coins certified by one of the independent grading companies. Apart from certain UN-certified circulated coins, each coin sold by Presidential that has been graded by (PCGS) or (NGC). Each of these coin grading services is recognized within the coin grading industry for its superior expertise, and each guarantee that coins certified by it are authentic. Presidential relies upon those guarantees in selling coins and does not independently verify whether certified coins are authentic.
Grading Risks:
The value of a coin is highly dependent upon the condition, or “grade” of that coin. Since grading is a matter of opinion, there is risk in acquiring coins whose grades have not been independently certified by (NGC) or (PCGS), and it is possible for the independent grading companies to assign a different grade to the same coin upon resubmission. The guarantees provided by such services provide protection against mis-grading, given the continuing solvency of the services. Presidential Metals is in no way responsible for any of the guarantees provided by (NGC) or (PCGS).
Volatility:
Precious Metals: coins, bars, rounds, Commemorative Bullion coins, and investment grade coin markets are subject to substantial price fluctuations, including significant and rapid increases and decreases in price. Investors must be able to assume the risk of such price movements. Presidential does not recommend owning Precious Metals: coins, rounds, bars, Commemorative Bullion coins, and Numismatic coins if you are unable to withstand volatility and/or loss.
Investment Performance:
The past performance of Precious Metals: coins, bars, rounds, Commemorative Bullion coins and Numismatic coins does not dictate future performance. There is absolutely no way to predict what the future value of these products will be. It is the responsibility of the Customer to choose the appropriate Precious Metals for their collection or investment portfolio. Presidential representative will provide insight and information regarding Precious Metals products but ultimately it is the Customers final decision on which products they would like to own.
Bid Price:
Presidential Metals is a buyer of Precious Metals: bars, Commemorative Bullion coins, rounds and Numismatic pieces. If you would like to sell your Precious Metal products, Presidential would be interested in purchasing from you but does not guarantee that they will purchase and/or be able to provide you with a “bid” price for these items. Should Presidential give you a “bid” price for your items, that price may change without warning. The “bid” or sale price fluctuates on an hourly basis and can rise or fall under various market conditions. Presidential’s “bid” or buyback may be significantly higher than other Precious Metals dealers.
Unregulated Environment of the Numismatic Market:
The coin market is not subject to some of the forms of governmental regulation applicable to other forms of investment arenas. Conversely, there can be no assurance that, in the future, regulations which materially affect the coin market will not be placed on the coin market. At present, there are zero (0) restrictions of the ownership of precious metals: bars, rounds, coins, Commemorative Bullion coins and Numismatic items.
Economic Forces:
The success of an investment in Precious Metals: coins, rounds, Commemorative Bullion coins, bars, and Numismatic items is dependent, at least in part, upon economic forces such as inflation, supply, demand, international monetary conditions. The impact of these forces on the value of Precious Metal products cannot be predicted with complete certainty. No guarantees can be given that an investor or collector will be able to sell his or her coins at a higher price than what they had paid. ALL investments involve risk. Precious metals: coins, bars, rounds, Commemorative Bullion coins and Numismatic coins are NO exception. The value of these products may also rise or fall over time.
Additional Considerations / Risks:
Presidential Metals does not guarantee that a Customer buying Precious Metal products for investment purposes will be able to sell at a profit. Bullion products value is largely determined by the spot price and may fluctuate throughout each day. The value of Numismatic items, or Commemorative coins is determined by several factors which can and do fluctuate outside of the Bullion prices. The factors include: scarcity or perceived scarcity, demand, quality/grade, and also economic factors. These products may not be suitable for everyone. Presidential does not determine the suitability of any specific person to purchase Precious Metal products. You should not acquire ANY products from Presidential if are not qualified to make your own financial decisions. You should obtain a thorough understanding of the Precious Metals market before your purchases. The investment value of Precious Metals: coins, bars, rounds, Commemorative Bullion coins, and Numismatic coins depends in large part on the price which you pay. If you are acquiring any of these products as an investment, you should evaluate its current market value, and the potential to go up in value/price. Since these products may decrease in value you should have adequate cash reserves and disposable income before acquiring such products.
Accountability Regarding Guarantees/ Warranties:
Presidential does not claim that any product it sells is or will be suitable for buying, using and/or selling for any specific purpose. Customer also agrees that no guarantees or warranties of any kind, including future value have been made by Presidential regarding any products that it offers. Customer agrees that Presidential has not made any guarantees on any items that it has sold customer. Presidential is not a grading company. Presidential will not be held accountable for variation of grading from NGC OR PCGS. Presidential does guarantee that the Precious Metals: coins, rounds, bars, Commemorative Bullion coins, and Numismatic items it sells are authentic as stated by the various grading services.
Notice:
Telephone sales representatives at Presidential Metals may be compensated through commissions; however, most staff members are also paid a salary or hourly rate. Their commissions, where applicable, are usually highest in Numismatic Coins as these products involve more labor, effort and time to produce, time to locate, and store in a secure location. The commissions are lower on Bullion products. Their knowledge, experience, time spent with Customer(s) and other factors vary considerably. They may receive, from time to time, undisclosed compensation for recommending specific precious metal products.
Check with a licensed professional advisor before buying or selling any stock/security, annuity, bond or any other financial product outside of the precious metals marketplace.
Further, Presidential representatives are not tax professionals, and may not provide any advice regarding taxes, or tax-ability on precious metal products. You should seek advice from your tax consultant regarding any tax implications you may or may not face.
IRA’s / Retirement Accounts:
Presidential recommends Customer(s) consult with his or her financial or tax advisor should he/she have any questions regarding the purchase or sale of Precious Metals and placing it into their IRA or Retirement Account. Additionally, tax laws are extensive and can change at any time, therefore any risk should be evaluated independently outside of Presidential Metals Exchange.
Some Bullion coins and bars may be held in an IRA or Retirement account. Customer(s) understands that there may be a spread as large as 25% for all such Bullion products. Customer(s) also understands Numismatic coins and/or other coins that may be deemed more valuable than their metal content carries a spread of up to 59.9% and their value can increase or decrease by factors by other than the spot price or the price of the underlying metal.
Presidential Metals is not affiliated with any IRA companies such as custodians or depositories. Customer is fully responsible for choosing which company they would like to work with. Presidential has no liability for any loss or damage that may result from his or her transaction with an IRA or Retirement account company.
Spread and Price Differential:
In general, Precious Metals: coins, rounds, bars, Commemorative Bullion coins and Numismatic coins are sold above their precious metals value. Bullion coins, rounds, and bars usually have the lowest premiums and Numismatic coins have higher premiums. Premiums may increase or decrease based upon market conditions. These factors may affect a coin’s pricing beyond changes in the spot prices. Price differential or “spread” is the difference between Presidential’s selling price (“ask”) and Presidential’s buyback price (“bid”). The “bid” price is what Presidential will pay the Customer for a Precious Metal product. The “ask’ price is what Presidential will charge for a Precious Metal product. Presidential Metals does not guarantee that Customer will be able to sell the product(s) at the original price or a higher price in the future.
Presidential Metals spread on Numismatic coins may be as high as 59.9%. Spreads will vary based on market conditions and may be lower at certain times.
Forecasting for Investors and Aspects to Consider:
Presidential Metals cannot provide any forecast or prediction regarding increase or decrease in the value of any Precious Metal products. Customer(s) fully understands that investment(s) in any Precious Metal product(s) is speculative, volatile and can be unpredictable due to prices rising or falling. For a profit to be made, prices must be greater than the spreads and costs.
Presidential representatives may discuss the general direction of various financial markets but are in NO way shape or form certified to make any claims regarding the market moving up or down.
Other dealers may term, grade, or classify coins differently than Presidential Metals Exchange. Presidential classifies coins as Bullion, Commemorative, Semi-Numismatic and Numismatic coins. Bullion may come in bar or coin form. Some coins may fall within more than one category depending on their specific grade or condition. Numismatic coins value is principally based upon such factors as grade, scarcity, condition, and demand rather than the melt price. Commemorative coins are coins that contain Precious Metals that generally move up and down with the spot price of the Precious Metal, but also contain additional value above the melt price of the metal. Investment grade coins have been certified by a third-party grading agency to guarantee their condition also help track the rarity of the product. Its value is principally based upon its Precious Metal value plus the cost of production. The value of a Bullion product rises and falls with the price of the Precious Metal. There are also a number of objective and subjective factors, including the age of the product, condition, the number of known copies, the likelihood of additional copies that may or may not be made, historical events, and also the investor or collectors personal desire to own the product(s). A classification of Precious Metals is only an opinion and may change overtime.
